Privacy policy

Calengaroo is a calendar app. This page explains what it stores, where it is kept, and what you can do about it.
Who we are
Calengaroo is run by [OWNER NAME], [COUNTRY]. For any question about your data, write to sparpouhy@gmail.com.
Without an account, your data stays on your device
You can use Calengaroo without an account. Then everything you create (events, tasks, notes, money, photos, videos, voice notes and settings) is saved only on your device, in the storage of your browser or of the app. It is never sent to us.
Because it lives only there, it is gone if you delete the app, clear your browser's data or lose the device. Use the backup in Settings to keep a copy.
Accounts and sync
Accounts and sync between devices are coming soon. When you create an account, we store:
- your email address, and your password in a protected form that we cannot read back (or the link to your Google account, if you sign in with Google);
- the devices you use, so you can see and remove them;
- a copy of your data and files, so they can reach your other devices;
- your plan, and whether you pay for Premium.
This copy is stored on servers in the European Union. Files are encrypted where they are stored, and everything is encrypted on its way between your devices and our servers. It is not end-to-end encrypted, so our server can read your data. Only the owner can reach the servers, and we look at your data only when you ask us to, to fix a problem, or when the law requires it.
Visit counts
In the web app (app.calengaroo.com), we count visits and which screens and buttons are used, with Umami (umami.is). It uses no cookies and collects nothing personal: never your titles, notes or amounts, and never an address that points to one of your items. The Android and Windows apps count nothing, and neither does this website.
Other services
Some actions reach other services, which then see that request:
- Finding a place, or picking one on the map, sends your search to OpenStreetMap (Nominatim) and loads the map from OpenStreetMap.
- A picture pasted from a web page keeps loading from that web page.
- Signing in with Google goes through Google, under Google's privacy policy.
With an account, these companies process data for us, each under a data processing agreement: our hosting provider (servers in the EU), Cloudflare (network protection and file storage, in the EU), Amazon Web Services (sending emails, from the EU) and Sentry (error reports, in the EU, with your account number and the request that failed, never your content). When Premium is available, Paddle will sell it for us and handle the payment under its own privacy policy. Cloudflare and Paddle may also process data outside the EU, under the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
Why we use it
- To run your account and sync: the contract between us, since you asked for the service.
- To keep the service safe and find errors: our legitimate interest in a service that works and is secure.
- To keep payment records: the law.
How long we keep it
- Your account data: as long as the account exists.
- The server copy of a free account that nobody uses for 6 months is deleted. We email you 3 months, 1 month and 1 week before. Your account and the data on your devices stay.
- Items you delete: their content leaves our servers after 30 days.
- Devices you remove: 90 days.
- Server logs: 14 days. Our backups: 30 days.
- When you delete your account, everything is gone within 30 days, backups included.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, or object to how we use it. The app already lets you export everything (a full backup as a .zip file, or your calendar as an .ics file) and delete your account yourself. For anything else, write to us. You can also complain to the data protection authority of your country.
What we never do
We never sell your data, never use it for ads, and never use tracking cookies.
Children
Accounts are for people aged 16 and over.
Changes
When this policy changes, we update this page and its date. If the change is important, we tell account holders by email first.
